About the Jingle Bell Beach Run

The Jingle Bell Beach Run began in December of 2005 in an effort to kick off Christmas week with a bang! The idea blossomed from the creative minds of Rani “The RoadRunner” Tanimoto and Gene “Turtle” Power, who teamed up to give this run a Christmas twist. Tanimoto and Power only had a week to put their organizational skills to the test, and on December 18, 2005, became their first annual Jingle Bell Beach Run!

One thing Tanimoto strived for was to keep this run simple and fun. With that in mind, it has grown over the last few years to a first-class event, one that participants remember, enjoy, and return year after year for more! The race starts at 7:30 AM SHARP and will have accurate timing. The distance of a 5-Kilomoteter or 1-Mile encourages participation from all fitness levels and running backgrounds. In addition, awards are given out to the top overall finishers as well as the top three best dressed Christmas costumes. Raffle prizes follow the awards, so it’s very hard for one to go home empty handed.
